H.P. Lovecraft (1890–1937) was an American writer known for his cosmic horror fiction, creating a mythology where ancient, indifferent cosmic entities haunt humanity.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Lovecraft lived a reclusive life, publishing most of his work in pulp magazines. His stories, including "The Call of Cthulhu," "At the Mountains of Madness," and "The Shadow over Innsmouth," explore forbidden knowledge, insanity, and the insignificance of mankind.
Though largely unrecognized in his lifetime, Lovecraft’s unique blend of horror, science fiction, and mythology influenced countless writers, filmmakers, and the entire horror genre, making him a cornerstone of modern weird fiction.
