Creating Your Own Path: Learn to Ignore Dream Wreckers and Doubters
By Scott Gese

Today's dream becomes tomorrows reality.

Thoughts (and dreams) backed by an elevated emotion become your habits. Your habits soon become the circumstances of your life.

Do you sit and ponder upon those dream-like thoughts that float across your mind or do you quickly brush them aside like a pesky fly disrupting your nap time?

Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.

Harriet Tubman

Have you ever thought of a great Idea, told someone about it and they immediately shot you down with a negative comeback like “You’re a dreamer”, “Dream on”, “Get your head out of the clouds” or something along that line.

Getting hit with a negative response can be deflating. It can cause you to start doubting your idea before it has a chance to see the light of day.

Those naysayers may have good intentions, but their statements are dream wreckers.

I’ve had this happen to me. I’m willing to bet you have as well. Did you let your idea die on the vine because one person thought it was a bad idea? What do they know about your idea?

Maybe this is the one thing you’re passionate about and they don’t share your enthusiasm or your work ethic? Maybe they don’t want to see you succeed because it will make them look bad or feel like losers? Maybe they just like the idea of putting people down.

If someone tells you, you can’t do something, Think about where they’re coming from. Are they jealous? They don’t share your vision? Maybe they can’t see past the work it will take to achieve your dream?

If it’s something you’re serious about, do your best to ignore them. This is your life. You’re here for a limited length of time. You have to make the best of it. Live it on your terms, not someone else’s.

If they don’t agree with your vision or they think you’re crazy. F___ em’. They apparently don’t have much faith in you or don’t have a clue as to what you’re capable of achieving. Don’t let people like this cause you to doubt your idea or what you believe. Stay positive.

Be careful what you water your dreams with. Water them with worry and fear and you will produce weeds that choke the life from your dream. Water them with optimism and solutions and you will cultivate success. Always be on the lookout for ways to turn a problem into an opportunity for success. Always be on the lookout for ways to nurture your dream.

Lao Tzu

The sky’s the limit. Great things are attainable through your focused effort.

You can learn to be or do anything you want. You can learn all you need to know to succeed in whatever you choose to do.

How do you think the top performers in any field got there? I’ll bet they didn’t let other people deflate their dream.

They ignored the naysayers and worked at learning what it takes to achieve their dream and then put out the effort to make it happen.

Yes, it takes effort. That’s reality.

Man, alone, has the power to transform his thoughts into physical reality; man, alone, can dream and make his dreams come true.

Napoleon Hill

If you have a dream. No matter what it is. If you want it bad enough, chase it until you catch it. Screw what your detractors have to say. Live your own life. Play by your own rules.

It may be a long slog to get where you want to be, but anything worth while takes time and focused effort. Be willing to learn. Be willing to do the work. Realize you’ll make mistakes along the way. Be willing to admit them, make adjustments and move on.

When you have a dream that you can’t let go of, trust your instincts and pursue it. But remember: Real dreams take work, They take patience, and sometimes they require you to dig down very deep. Be sure you’re willing to do that.

Harvey Mackay

Dream on, and if you so choose, make that dream a reality.

To Your Success.
